Four Months

Well can you believe it....we have ourselves a big 4 month old!!

This month has probably gone the fastest. I'm guessing it is because it is December and we have had so much going on. We've also had to say "no" a lot more than normal. We have learned that Lady A does MUCH better on a routine and becomes VERY overstimulated, very quickly.

There were lots of big moments this month. A few of them being:
  • She is no longer sleeping in the swing - this is HUGE for us.
  • She has found her voice big time. Like WHOA! She squeals when she is happy. And when she is not so happy. Less crying. More squealing.
  • She is a teething maniac. Wow. If I survive teething, it will be nothing short of a miracle. :-/
Here are some photos of the last month. Christmas included!

Aniston's Nursery

So here is the post I have been waiting to write for a while! Aniston's big nursery reveal!!

When having her newborn photos taken, the talented Aimee with Radiant Photography also took pictures of her room! I would call it 95% complete but if I wait until it is totally done, it could be a while. So here you go...

Oh and this little angel lasted about 10 whole minutes in her crib.
But I know she will love it soon enough :)

The crib is from Restoration Hardware, as is the chandelier, the bedding, the personalized crown canvas, the tutu pillow, the rug, the bunny and the hamper (not pictured).

I bought the rocker off Craigslist and had it recovered with fabric from Nell Hill's. This was the inspiration for the entire room. We also used the same fabric for the window seat. The pouf is from Z Gallerie and I use it as the ottoman when I use the chair.

The lamp and ruffle pillow (inside the crib) are from Lauren Alexandra and the leopard one was made by my uncle from leftover fabric from the rocker. The other pillows on the window seat are from Etsy and Target.

The changing table was bought at a home store and the mirror was a garage sale find!

And of course the monogram canvas was a fabulous gift from my good friend over at The Magic Brush. She also painted the pink side table which was originally black and purchased a few years ago at Target.

This has to be my new favorite room and hope that Aniston loves it for many years to come!

Three months

Are you ready for cuteness overload?!?

I am sure I will say this every month, but I really can't believe she is 3 months! So cray. I am finally getting out of "the fog" that is new motherhood. The crying has lessened (for both of us :) and the sleep is getting better.

She has found her little hands, smiles SO big, coos and squeals VERY loudly and is as sweet as can be. Oh but don't let her fool ya - she still very much knows what she likes and what she doesn't! :)

Things she did in her third month:
  • First Halloween
  • First Thanksgiving
  • First play date
  • Momma went back to work
  • Went to a gender reveal
  • Went to a couple birthday parties
  • Had some new babysitters

(that's all I can remember!)

Happy 3 months baby girl!

Two Months

Well Lady A is now two months old! Still very hard to believe that I have two month old. She has definitely done a lot in her short little life. Here are a few of the fun things she did in the past month:

  • Smiled for the first time

  • Went to her first Hay Ride - although she slept pretty much the whole time!

  • Went shopping with Mom and Milly on the Plaza - no picture of that :-/
  • Went to Holiday Mart

  • Participated in her first Halloween parade

A couldn't stay awake and Cousin Miles is having so much fun :)

Woody and Jesse led the parade

  • Dressed up as a mermaid for Halloween and went to a few houses to trick or treat

Here she is with her friend Makenzie

Happy 2 months baby girl!! Can't wait to see what the next month holds.

One Month

Technically Aniston is 6 weeks old but I did have good intentions of updating this at one month. It seems as though every time I make a plan - little miss changes it. I guess I better start getting use to that!

On one hand, I feel like I blinked and the six weeks was over and other the other hand, it feels like six months. It has been an amazing and exhausting six weeks to say the least.

I wouldn't trade one second of it...ok, that's not true...maybe a few seconds! Ha - kidding (sorta) :) No matter how many babies I have babysat or been around, nothing can prepare you for having your own. There is nothing quite like it. I mean, just look at her...

She smiled for the first time last weekend and it was like time just stopped. Absolutely priceless. My hubby's reaction when she smiled was almost just as priceless!

So I will try to give you a small glimpse into our world with Baby A...

In the book, The Baby Whisperer, there are five different kinds of babies. You take a little quiz to determine what kind of baby you have. You could pretty much just read the descriptions and figure out what temperament matches your baby. The five different kinds of babies are:
The Angel Baby
The Textbook Baby
The Spirited Baby
The Touchy Baby
The Grumpy Baby

Any guesses on what kind of baby Aniston is?! Oh yeah, she is the Spirited Baby. Here is the description...

Spirited Baby: Born knowing what she likes and doesn't like and makes it well-known. Vocal and aggressive. Screams when she wakes. Doesn't like dirty diapers. Body language is jerky. Needs swaddling. If she starts to cry without interruption, it leads to more crying until she is in a rage. Grabs toys from other babies when she gets the chance and has the ability.

Yep, that pretty much sums her up. She knows how to go from zero to 60 in seconds! And the whole "grabs toys from other babies"...I am already feeling bad for her sweet-angel baby cousin, Miles. :-/ I guess it might be payback from Miles' Dad (my brother) always taking my toys :) So all of that on top of her having thrush and having the world's most sensitive stomach, she has definitely kept us on our toes!!

Aniston and Miles

Now with all of that said...who wants to babysit?!? :) Don't all call at once, please...

But seriously...one more look at her...

I think I will keep her. Although she has her moments, she is MY sweet, spirited, high-maintenance, loud, beautiful baby girl whom I love with my whole heart!

Happy One Month Aniston Reilly!!!
